Print dialog on a Mac
If you’re using a Canon printer on a Mac you may want to check the ink levels. If you’re using a Canon iPF7500, for example, you can see how much ink is left in the tank.
There are a few different ways to do this. You can use the control panel, a Canon software application, or a third-party app. Depending on your printer model, you may need to navigate a bit to find the ink level indicator.

For instance, a Canon iPF7500 will probably show you the ink level with the LCD screen. However, you can also check the ink levels from the Control Panel.

HP printers report ink levels to the computer

Canon IJ Status Monitor
If you have a Canon printer, you may be wondering how to check ink levels on your computer. Depending on the model, you can either check them in the control panel or on your LCD screen.
The easiest way is to simply run a manual test. This will tell you how much ink is in the tanks and whether or not the printer is functioning properly. You’ll also receive warnings when you’re low on ink. It’s a good idea to replace ink cartridges as soon as you notice the level is going down.
